There are many resources on the website of the Center for Teaching Excellence at the University of Waterloo to improve your teaching skill. One of the programs that the center offers is Fundamentals of University Teaching Program. The program helped me to receive positive feedback from my students.

Motivation and joyful experience is the key to the student engagement in a classroom. A good teacher will always find a way to create them. 

Knowing how to access educative materials is more important than actually learning them. As the instructor of Math127 at UW, I made sure that my students have constant access to course materials.
